WOW
Amazing photos, amazing rendering of internal musculature. A wow book for understanding what is happening inside the body during asana practice.

You get to see what happens and what is supposed to be happening. December 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best illustrated guide I've seen on the subject of yoga. The illustration are extremely clear and more importantly, helpful. You get to see what happens and what is supposed to be happening. I can't imagine doing yoga without having this book around as great reference. In fact I find it more helpful even than videos. With videos I'm always trying to follow along instead of paying attention to my own body and thoughts, which is the point right?

Too scientific for me November 24, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I think this is a great book if you have a medical background - I'm just a yoga practicioner and wanted to know which muscles I'm using, what to pay attention to etc., I guess that's not really what the book is meant for.
good reference! November 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i refer to this book whenever i feel stuck in my advancement on a pose; sometimes, it helps to see and understand what my muscles and joints should be ideally doing. the chapter on breathing turned on a huge lamp-light for me, and my practice has enhanced greatly as a result.
