4 out of 5 stars Talking Clock   December 20, 2008

I just recently ordered another talking clock for a family member who is legally blind. It has certainly made her life at 94 years old, living alone, much easier.
She would be lost without it. I highly recommend it for someone with poor vision.

The clock is smalland handy--BUT--spoken times are sometimes hard or impossible to understand. Some times are garbled and the talker has trouble with fives and nines. I have had previous clocks, one for many years, and this is the most difficult to understand.

My husband is legally blind and now he just pushes the button to tell what time it is.

My second one. Had first at least 8 years. I love the crowing rooster alarm, effective but gentle way to wake up. Afterwards, a woman's voice states the time, very handy when half asleep or in a dark room. Flat design makes it difficult to accidentally knock on floor. Very easy to set.

The voice is neither loud nor crisp even at the higher of the two volume settings.
