Great heat feature August 10, 2008 The jets are strong and the heating element is excellent..that alone gets the 5 stars. Cold water has always been my complaint with cheaper models. It also has a valve to drain water when you're done so you don't have to flip the whole thing over awkwardly. My only complaints would be about the bottom of the basin. I would rather there were "bumps" or maybe a wavy surface to roll your feet over. What is on the bottom is a roller which I don't find soothing. I'd also chuck the pumice stone. And lastly, if the basin bottom was tilted up..so your toes were slightly above your heels..it would feel more natural, rather than having your feet flat.
Good for at home use... July 20, 2008 I was very picky when it came to a foot massage. I knew I wanted a heater and I read every review on here on every model available before choosing this model. I think this model is pretty good for at home use. Of course I would rather have someone also massaging my feet, for it to be deeper so it covered more, and possibly a wider base...but hey, this is a home unit and it is pretty darn good. The heating function is wonderful, getting the water nice and hot. I wish there were air jets under my foot- they are at the top of the unit shooting at my toes. I curl my toes this way and that and it pushes the bubbles around my feet. I think I am going to try putting my sea salts in a cheesecloth and see if it works. Otherwise, you can't add sea salts to the unit...which is a bummer. Overall, this a good unit for at home use.
Quit working after 6 uses July 19, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I use the foot spa infrequently, primarily for helping to recover from foot surgery.
I've had the unit for over a year, but have used it only about 6 times (and being careful not to add anything to the water per the directions).
This morning, I pulled it out, filled it with warm water, plugged it in and started it up in anticipation of helping a foot recover from another, recent operation. The unit worked for about 5 minutes and then the air pump quit functioning properly, making only a clicking sound and providing no air jet flow.
The only advice from Brookstone customer service is to take it to a repair shop.
I am extremely disappointed that such an expensive unit has failed and requires repair after just 6 uses.
tame massage July 8, 2008 I pre-ordered this foot massage spa to relieve niggling pain in my feet. Though the product operated exactly as per the manual, it was rather tame. It didn't really help reduce the pain, rather it merely tried to soothe the feet. Your feet will feel good so long as they are in the spa, but the spa does nothing to reduce the pain. I didn't think its worth spending so much money to just put my feet in hot water (& that too without salts). I've returned the product.
Nice product, solidly built January 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The spa works as advertised and does relax my feet when I use it. The heater works very well. I have size 11 feet and the spa is a little cramp for me. I have about 2 inches of forward and backwards movement so I can't really use the rollers to massage the bottom of my feet. The manual also does not recommend using baths salts because they may clog the jets.
