 Big walker for big people September 30, 2008
The walker arrived as promised. It does have hand brakes but does not have lockable brakes to keep it immobile while sitting. This can be kind of tricky if you are not squeezing the brake handles while you are trying to sit or stand up. The vinyl seat cover is already tearing at the seam which is too bad.
I rated it 4 stars because it is as advertised - extra large seating and carrying capacity.

My mother has been walking with a walker for a number of years. She's always seemed rather hesitant to go outside her apartment and we never understood why. We purchased this chair for her for her birthday and can not believe the confidence she now has. Just the simple fact that she can sit down and rest where she wants, when she wants, she's able to walk with more enthusiasm and for a longer period of time. It's amazing.
Two things we are going to do for transporting the unit is to replace the metal basket with a soft basket as you can't fold it with the metal basket. And do something about the handles or backrest as the width of those items when folded doesn't fit into the trunk of a car very well.
The construction and strength of this product is superior to those costing 3 times more. We looked at every model available.
