 Doesn't provide much support May 9, 2007
This product is lightweight and easy to get on and off. It fits well in shoes but I found I needed to wear it over a thick pair of socks to get any support at all. I have the small size but it is not small enough. My shoe size is 6 1/2 so it's not like I'm a tiny person.
I will need to find an ankle support that is adjustable.

I sprained my ankle very badly, and couldn't run for a month. When I went back to running/elliptical training, my ankle was very wobbly. I ordered a small/medium Wellgate and was EXTREMELY impressed with the support it provided. ***However*** I guessed badly about the size, and had to order a new one because after a few hours, the Small/Medium became too tight on my wide-width foot. Here is the sizing info for the Wellgate ankle support: SMALL/MEDIUM fits 6-9 Narrow, 6-8 Medium, and 6 Wide; LARGE/EXTRA LARGE fits 10 Narrow, 9-10 Medium, and 7-10 Wide. Thus, if you are at the smaller end of the wide range, like I am (7 Wide) you might be inclined to buy the Small/Medium, like I did. My L/XL arrived this week and it's as great as the S/M but without the problems with tightness as I wear it longer. I ran 2-1/2 miles on the Wellgate on Friday, and had absolutely no complaint from my ankle--great support, very comfortable to wear, not bulky.

I bought one of these elsewhere and paid ten bucks plus shipping. I love it so much I came looking for another and am thrilled to find Amazon has them for less. I walk a lot and now and then my right foot will come down on something like a rock or pavement edge and twist under me causing me severe pain and taking months to heal. I used to wear mid-high athletic shoes for the support they offered but then it dawned on me to try an ankle support instead and this one appealed since it is so thin and hardly noticable. You'd think to look at it that it would not have much support to offer but it really does! It not only supports your ankle it supports your arches too. Totally comfortable - I wear it over my good thick and cushioned athletic socks so it doesn't get all sweaty and gross. My socks are not low or crew, they are the height in between the two and I can fold the top of the sock down over the top edge of the support and you would really have to look hard to see the support. I think they are just great and am glad Wellgate invented them and that Amazon is selling them!!

I recently purchased a Slimfit Ankle Support from Amazon and I am very pleased with the purchase. It fits so comfortably and yet doesn't pinch or roll up like some others I have tried. I have fallen arches and because I walk a lot, my legs began to bother me. Some years ago I had a Podiatrist prescribe an ankle support but unfortunately the elastic was all stretched out and ineffective. I began looking on the intenet for an ankle support and found the Slimfit at Amazon (my favorite website). I can now walk for a mile or two with no discomfort in my legs or knees. I plan to buy another Slimfit from Amazon for my other ankle/foot. You just can't go wrong with this product.

I am actually a man, and I bought this to wear when I play indoor soccer so as to protect my injured ankle. It feels comfortable in my compact soccer shoes since it is so sleek. It provides adequate protection to minor injuries like I have. I've tried some thicker ankle braces and they feel bulky and very uncomfortable in my soccer shoes. These should be fine enough for daily use and women you should buy them since they're the best looking out there that go with fashion shoes I think.
UPDATE: I've been wearing this quite a few times for soccer now, and it helped A LOT! Well exceeds my expectation for such a thin ankle support! Now my ankle does not hurt after playing 3 hours every week. But do remember to cut the brand tag inside since it irritates your skin.
