1 out of 5 stars This product did not work for me   October 24, 2008

I used this product for several months and I saw zero improvement in the hairs I was treating. I treated the same hairs over and over again and they did not even get thinner or lighter. This product is also way too complicated to use. There are gel and electrodes and a foot pedal which is ridiculous for a product that does not even work. After finally giving up on this product I decided to try the Clean and Easy electrolysis system. It's about $35 so its a fraction of the cost of the Vector and it is much simpler to use and it actually works. It isn't perfect. Each hair needs to be treated several times and it leaves a red mark after using which takes a week or so to fade but at least it works.

1 out of 5 stars Painful and disapointed.   August 9, 2008

I had bought this product over a year ago. I followed the instructions as I read them. I had even been manually plucking each one for a while. The product was painful (which wasn't the problem since that's to be expected)and disappointing. I had use it on a few selected hairs repeatedly and it still grew back, It left some burn marks but that went away fairly quickly. I personally wished I had never bought it. The only good thing about it were the tweezers it came with...which was in my opinion, very well made...but that's about the only good thing I can say about this product.

3 out of 5 stars Requires some time committment   December 30, 2006

I purchased this product about six months ago to remove about 20 -30 dark, coarse hairs from my chin. At the time I was thinking about going to go to a professional electrolyst (sp?), but figured that it'd be cheaper and more convenient to remove these hairs on my own with this product. The product documentation says that permanent hair removal will take 3 to 4 months.

For the last six months, I've been dutifully using this product weekly for about 20 minutes. Most of the hairs have gotten a lot finer, but they are still growing back. Now that they're finer, they're actually harder to "zap." Here's why: According to the directions, you grip the hair and pull slightly before you turn on the electric current. When the hairs are really fine, I end up pulling them out before I can turn on the current.

My advice to anyone who's considering shelling out the money for this product is to ask yourself if you can commit to using this product weekly for 6 to 12 months on a relatively small area.

5 out of 5 stars Baby soft   August 21, 2006

I have used the Vector Electrolysis System for over six months and I have found it to be a safe and reliable product. The product is easy to use and very affordable...especially considering how much you would pay to have it done professionally. I highly recommend the product. The company provides you with instructions and all you have to do is execute. Its that simple and the results are terrific your skin will be baby soft after removing the unwanted hair. Try it!

2 out of 5 stars Its really not that good   February 24, 2006

I think I wasted my money on this one. I wouldn't want you to do the same. The quality of the machine itself seems pretty solid and it does supply a current that can be felt on the skin. Is it doing anything to the hair? I guess I will find out in a few weeks time but I don't think so do to the difficulty of using the tweezers and gel.

My main problem with the machine are conductivity gel and the tweezers. The gel is suppose to be the bridge to getting the electric current to the hair root, however the gel is so slick that I couldn't grip the hair with the tweezers afterwards. I am NOT a novice with tweezers! I had a look at the tips of the tweezers and they were slightly uneven in thickness but no slight angle for gripping. Those who know a good pair of tweezers know what I am talking about. The tweezers are simply not that good and I have thick coarse hairs that I can yank with my nails sometimes. I wasn't able to grip the hairs and pull them out comfortably with the tweezers and I had to use a regular pair. Working with two pairs of tweezers was a pain. If the currently could have been applied trough my Tweezermans, then I wouldn't have a problem.

I thought that if I let the gel dry it would be a bit better. When the gel dries and starts to form a "skin" on the face that gets in the way and makes the tips of the tweezers gooey. The dried gel doesn't seem to catch the current according to the power meter on the box and so nothing is done to the root of the hair (I guess).

I didn't find it worth my time to remove about 10 hairs in 5 minutes.

I couldn't see using this machine without the foot pad. However, I found it easier to hold the foot pad in my hand while applying the current.

I wouldn't buy this machine, save your money and wait for the next best thing.

It just might be better just to leave it to the professionals. That is why they are still in business today.
