Triple action styling system keeps your hair detangled, straight, and shiny. | Innovation in Home Styling With the Conair 208, you can practically say good-bye to your hair brush. Combining several advanced technologies and design features, this hair styler not only works to dry your hair without hurting its natural sheen and luster, but it will also help you manage your hair by controlling frizz, promoting healthy hair and volume, straightening out unwanted curls, and adding a beautiful shine as you style. Conair's advanced Tourmaline Technology produces a controlled ion output that helps smooth the cuticle layer. Infrared energy works to protect your hair's natural luster, so you don't have to worry about excessive heat. And to help produce results with less frizz and more manageability, the styler also features unique Ionic technology, and a triple action styling system that keeps your hair detangled, straight and shiny. A Styler Designed for You The Conair 208 sports a sleek but durable stainless steel design. Included with the styler is a straightening attachment with a tension-control dial that turns a full 360 degrees and has eight locking positions. A patent-pending release lock button secures attachments on the barrel, offering the versatility that you need as you're styling your hair. Beneath the hood of the Conair 208 is a powerful 1875-watt motor that will deliver the heat and air range that you need. An easy-to-use, two-speed slide switch is set on the handle, and the styler includes a hinged filter for easy cleaning. A nine-foot professional line cord and cord tie will give you ample room as you take care of your hair. The Conair 208 also comes with a five-year manufacturer's warranty. The History of Tourmaline Ceramic Technology In 1970 Conair introduced the industry's first pistol grip hair dryer. Fast forward 35 years to France. In September 2005, Conair's French subsidiary BaByliss introduced a patent-pending design to control frizz, straighten hair, and to add shine and volume in one revolutionary step. Their BeLiss styler effectively eliminated the need for a hairbrush for straightening, and by the end of the year it was the number one seller in France. Conair introduced this new technology to the U.S. in the form of the Infiniti Hair Designer, a high-end, professional-caliber styler that produces salon-quality results at home. What's in the Box Conair 208 Infiniti hair designer, straightening attachment, and concentrator attachment.

Best Straightener Hair Dryer for the Price December 6, 2008 I have shoulder length, extremely curly, frizzy, coarse, out of control hair. The slightest humidity wrecks my hair style. I suffered with this all my life and finally, a few years ago, started to get the Japanese Straightening done every four months. Expensive, but worth it. The treated hair never curls again. However, after about two months the roots start to grow in and since I am now spoiled, I wanted to use something that would easily straighten the roots (the most difficult part) and that I could use on the treated hair as well so it is smooth and shiny.
I bought this originally for $59.00 but just got it here on Amazon for my (twin) sister for $39.99. The only other place I have seen it that price was Marshalls. I can't express how well it works, but it does take a little effort to learn how to use effectively. You need to hold the hair tight in sections when the hair is still fairly damp/wet and pull the brush section through slowly, numerous times until the hair is completely dry. If you do that you will be very happy with the results. The difference between using this and just sectioning off my hair and drying with a regular dryer and brush is night and day. The roots are totally straight.
Again, Japanese Straightening is a miracle treatment for me...nothing works like that does but it is very expensive ($400 with tip every 4 months for my hair). Since I am by no means wealthy, you can imagine how fantastic it must work and how out of control my hair is. To also extol the virtues of this product...well you get the point. It takes practice but I mastered it with the first use.
For anyone who said it was crap...they just did not know how to use it or expected it not to burn their hair if they left it on one spot for too long...any hot hair product will burn if not used properly. I highly recommend this product.
Works really well... November 29, 2008 I bought this dryer for my beloved wife. She used to have Braun dryers before and this was our first experience with Conair. This was a great deal we had. The quality is really wonderful and the DVD was Ok but somehow pretty too short and not that much rich but does the job. The unit is not heavy as other reviews state AT ALL. If you tried other dryers in that class they are at least double the weight. The finish and effectiveness as my wife says, is really great and as expected from the Ads. After the discount from Amazon, it's really a very good deal and sure we will go for Conair again. Thanks Amazon for the smooth transaction and excellent service we are used to..
Unnecessary for straight hair November 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you have slightly wavy or straight hair, the cost and complexity of this hair dryer are not necessary. I did a test and my hair looked the exact same when I turned my head upside down and blew it dry in less than five minutes and when I painstakingly used the comb attachment and blew it dry in sections for an hour. Guess I'm lucky, so I'm returning this for a cheaper, simpler dryer.
Really good! September 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really like this hair dryer. I had to give it a good 3 months to become a better user of it. But after that, it worked really nice. 9 months later, I am not seeing the results I used to. The hair does not become as silky as it used to. I wonder if any of the settings got switched. But overall, it is a must have if you blow dry your hair using a brush. My hands used to get very tired having the dryer in one hand and brush in another. But not anymore. Another good thing about this dryer is, it really did reduce my styling time in half. It used to take me 20 minutes do to my hair after it was washed. Now it only takes 10 mins that includes the hair being wet and then fully styled and ready to leave the house. Just for that I love it. So, yes, I would recommend this product.
Great for thick hair September 9, 2008 I have thick wavy hair and this dryer is great for either drying with a round brush to keep it wavy or using the attachment to make it straight, all without losing volume (which is my biggest complaint with straight irons). Also makes my hair much less frizzy than other blow dryers. Great product!
