 No screw lid December 15, 2008
This is a pretty nice chrome shave dish for the price but not that wonderful for travel as the lid is only held on by friction. In most cases, I believe you could probably travel with it and get away with it not opening but I was expecting a screw lid that would make it more durable and reliable for travel. Fast delivery and reliable customer service.

This is a great product. It's very nicely sized, fitting most soaps. It's very light because the metal is then, yet very sturdy and good for travel because the cap stays on. And since it's stainless it doesn't bleed anything into the soap like wood can. And fits perfectly in the palm when lathering up.

I broke my glass soap dish of 15 years and this metal shaving soap holder holds any soap bar and has a lid. So now I can take the shaving soap with me when I travel and keep it clean when not being used. I hope that this will be the last soap dish I need to buy.

I love this product! Just returned from a trip across country with it as the utility to hold my shave soap. The lid holds tight and snugly, so even the baggage handlers rough treatment didn't cause it to pop open. The soap does not air-dry inside that closed container and remained soft. Definitely well worth the money!

I had been looking for a well designed, simple metal shaving bowl for years, since the wooden ones do not keep their good looks for more than a year. I was happy to find this one here, and I am even happier with the quality of its manufacture, as well as how it looks and functions.
I also bought Pendergast's soap, in case the soaps I had on hand wouldn't fit this bowl (they do, however). Their Sandlewood soap is as good as the imported soaps I had been buying for twenty years at more than twice the price; it lathers creamily and well, holds a slight masculine fragrance, and when applied with a hot and wet brush, gives a most comfortable shave.
