I get some healthy calluses from sliding around on mats during martial arts training. If they get too large they tend to catch and shear. The coarse side of the rasp is an excellent middle ground between the "smoothers" and the "shavers".
Please ignore the negative feedback regarding the inability to clean it -- as noted in the product description, it snaps apart easily.

all your dead skin that you rasp will be locked under the metal parts,so after 2 months just try to smell it!!
