This iron is a little on the expensive side, but it is true quality! I purchased it after a friend waved my hair-- it works wonderfully on her thick hair and on my very thin hair! The only downside is to get the amazing look that stays in all day (and all night) you must wave in small sections/layers and use some holding product either before or after each section (i use suave spray gel and it does not get crinkly or crunchy!) Overall, a buy I dont regret! Doing small sections takes time but with practice it gets much much faster.
