This iron did not heat up very high. I don't know if the one I purchased was defective but I could totally touch the iron and did not have to jerk my hand away immediately. This is after a good five minutes of warm up time. My hair felt mildly lukewarm to the touch after dragging the iron through a section and it did not straighten very well. I returned it. Big thumbs down.
Not very good July 1, 2008
After coming home from the salon I really wanted a hair straightener. The salon had used a Global Beauty product, but, I wasn't able to afford that. So, out I went and purchased Vidal Sassoon's newest flat iron the Answer. I'll answer you this, it did heat up quickly, it kinda straightened my hair, (I have straight hair with a slight curve at the ends), but, it did not leave it absolutely straight at the ends like at the salon. The plates snagged on my hair a little and it was difficult to run the straightener down my hair without pulling on it. It did not leave my hair shiny and smooth, it seemed to dry my hair and left a rugged look to it. PS. I had used a Fekkai product to protect my hair.
